Biography

Marissa Miller is 5’8″ in (1.73 m) tall and has Hazel coloured eyes. She has long, blonde and wavy hair. She is a mother to two children. She currently has an agency called Excel Sports Management.

Early Life

Marisa Lee Beretta, aka Marissa Miller, was born on 6th August 1978 in Santa Cruz California, USA. She was born to parents Marc Beretta

and Krista Useldinger, however, there is not much known about them. She has two younger siblings.  She went to Aptos High and Monte Vista Christian School.

She considered herself to be a tomboy growing up and was a star volleyball player in high school and it was her favourite sport. How ironic is it to see a tomboy sports player turn into a Victoria’s Secret Supermodel! She mostly had male friends growing up, and used to walk around in oversized clothes out of shyness and body consciousness to wear anything too girly.

Career

Miller was found by Italian modelling agents at the age of sixteen in a San Francisco diner. Despite her “shy and conservative” personality, she was on a plane to Italy with her mother a few months later after speaking with her mother. Marisa believed herself too curvy and short to fit the unisex style that was popular in fashion modelling throughout the 1990s.

Miller became well-known in 1997 after posing nude in the debut edition of Perfect 10 magazine.

Despite finishing third in Perfect 10 magazine’s first annual model search, behind Ashley Degenford and Monica Hansen, she was featured in several follow, including the covers of the Winter 1998 and August/September 1999 editions, as well as a reprint for the Fall 2004 edition cover.

Her breakthrough came in 2001 at the age of 21, when she met renowned photographer Mario Testino, and she soon found herself on the covers of Vogue, Sports Illustrated, and Victoria’s Secret catalogue. She also shot for both Italian and American editions of Vogue, photographed by Mario Testino.

She shot her first TV commercial for Victoria’s Secret for the ‘It Bra’ range in 2007. Miller made her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut on December 4, 2007 and launched a part in the following year’s edition.

Other catwalk appearances include 2007’s Fashion for Relief for Hurricane Katrina victims, MTV’s Fashionably Loud, Imitation of Christ, Inca, and Amir Slama’s Rosa Cha, for which she was one of the most awaited models.

On February 12, 2008, edition of The Late Show with David Letterman, a three-story billboard in New York City announced that Miller will be on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue that year.

She worked for the five-city tour for Victoria’s secret to promote their 2008 swimsuit collection, across Miami, New York City, Chicago, Boston and Minneapolis.

Soon after, Victoria’s Secret relaunched its sports brand, VSX, as well as her first official campaign as an Angel, promoting the company’s scent Very Sexy Dare. Miller was chosen to wear the 2009 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show’s “Fantasy Bra,” a harlequin design with 2,300 white, champagne, and cognac diamonds and a 16-carat heart-shaped brown-yellow diamond pendant worth $3 million and 150 total carats.

In reaction to allegations that Miller had left Victoria’s Secret in January 2010, Limited Brands’ Chief Marketing Officer stated that the claims were “unfounded and inaccurate,” adding that “we adore Marisa and we will continue to work with her in the future.” Miller acknowledged in late 2010 that she had moved on to new projects.

Beyond Victoria’s Secret

After quitting her Victoria’s Secret contract, Marissa Miller wanted to establish herself as a personal brand and become a celebrity herself. She launched her line of shoes in July 2008. The same year, they also re-wrote history by becoming the first spokesperson for Harley Davidson to launch the VRSCF V-Rod Muscle motorcycle.

Marisa also transitioned into acting, appearing on shows including “Gary Unmarried”, “How I Met Your Mother” and HBO’s “Entourage.”.

Marisa made her feature picture debut alongside Jeff Bridges, Ryan Reynolds, and Kevin Bacon in Universal Pictures’ R.I.P.D.

In 2013, the film was released.

Marisa’s brand’s success can also be attributed to her ability to collaborate with corporations to produce her collections, such as a shoe line with Vans, Love Rocks perfume with Victoria’s Secret, and, most recently, a stand-up-paddle board (SUP) with Surftech.

Aside from modelling, she was an ambassador for the American Cancer Society and the United Service Organizations. Miller’s feature film debut was R.I.P.D.

TV Shows Career

Miller’s first television appearance was as a judge on Bravo’s Manhunt: The Search for America’s Most Gorgeous Male Model in 2004, the same year she participated in Puddle of Mudd’s “Spin You Around” music video.

In 2007, she appeared in the VH1 reality show The Shot’s pilot episode and finale, as well as cameos in HBO’s Entourage and the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother, the latter with her fellow Victoria’s Secret Angels.

Miller’s 2008 commercial for Activision’s Guitar Hero: World Tour was rejected because it was too seductive.
