The two kept picking up wins, with Benjamin defeating Archer in a no-disqualification match the next week after Archer had beaten Benjamin on the ECW program airing on February 2. Archer participated in a 26-man which was before battle royal at WrestleMania XXVI, which he lost.

As Hoyt gained a sizable fan base, he introduced a gimmick called “Hoytamania,” which was meant to parody the “Hulkamania” surrounding Hulk Hogan. He had a dispute with Team Canada in the middle of 2005 and fell to Abyss during Sacrifice. He competed in the 10-man Gauntlet match to decide the top challenger for Jeff Jarrett’s NWA World Heavyweight Championships after losing to Monty Brown at Bound for Glory. Hoyt was defeated in the bout by Rhino, who went on to win.

Later, he started working alongside Matt Bentley on mid-card tag fights until a misread steel chair incident caused Bentley to think Hoyt had “screwed” him, at which point Bentley reacted violently with a brawl beside the ring that included many chair shots. Bentley lost to Hoyt at Destination X. He rejoined TNA at No Surrender and teamed up with Ron “The Truth” Killings as in Three Chance Tag Team royal rumble, however, he was among the first competitors to be eliminated. Hoyt makes a comeback on Spike TV, teaming up with Killings and defeating Kazarian and Matt Bentley.

As a part of the Voodoo Murders for a brief period throughout All Japan Pro Wrestling, Hoyt revealed on April 26, 2009, that he had signed a contract with WWE. He competed in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), a WWE developmental organization, under the ring name Lance Archer after his father. He competed alongside Jon Cutler in his first match, losing to Duke Rotundo & Vic Adams. Then Vance Archer was added to his ring name.

The teams of Abyss & Matt Morgan, A Latin American Xchange, as well as those Prince Justice Brotherhood the latter of which quickly started a feud with The Rock ‘n Rave Infection, were all beaten by The Rock ‘n Rave Infection.
